Alvin "Al" Veesart Jr. passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 74. Al was born in Clifton, KS, to Alvin Veesart Sr. and Mary Ann Meirhans Veesart.
He attended Clifton-Clyde High School and graduated in 1969. Al met Marsha Corder when they were both students at St. Mary of the Plains College. They were married on August 8, 1980. He went on to pursue and earn a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology in 1986 from Wichita State University.
Al worked in the Human Services Department for the City of Wichita in Career Development for 18 years. After Al retired from the City of Wichita, he became a courier for Metro Courier where he enjoyed connecting with a variety of people at his stops.
Al enjoyed many hobbies ranging from painting, beading and cooking. He enjoyed creating new recipes and subjected his family to many experimental kitchen nights. He was able to pass down an appreciation of wilderness survival to his only child and his two grandchildren.
Later in life he became a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Wichita where his faith in Christ was reborn.
Al was preceded by his father, Alvin Veesart Sr. and his mother, Mary Ann. He is survived by his wife Marsha, his daughter Leslie (Veesart) Broadhead and husband Eric Broadhead, his grandchildren Ella and Conner, his siblings Lawrence, John, Karen and Michael, as well as ten nieces and nephews.
The funeral service is Friday, October 23, 2026, at Christ The King Catholic Church at 10:30 AM.
