Andrew D. Huhta, 41, of Wichita, KS, was born on April 18, 1985, in Longview, WA. He went to meet Jesus' face to face and to hear the words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant," on April 27, 2026. He was surrounded by his family at home.
Andrew grew up in Longview, WA. He was one of six siblings and was homeschooled K-12th grade. At the age of 19, he moved to Wichita, KS. In 2009, he met the love of his life, Jill Wagner. They later married on June 19, 2010. For the last 14 years, he had worked for the City of Wichita in the Water Distribution Department, later moving up to Supervisor. Andrew also obtained his Minister's Credentials through the Assemblies of God in 2019. He worked several years as a Children's Pastor at various churches, including his most recent church, The Assembly at Goddard, where he is a member. He also filled in as Youth Pastor in 2024. Andrew had a calling and love for ministry. He had such a humble attitude and a love for people of all ages. And people of all ages just simply loved him. He led several small group Bible studies and played bass on the worship team. If Andrew wasn't at work or church, he was at home with his family, whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, woodworking, traveling, and family movie nights. He loved being outdoors, enjoying God's beautiful nature.
Survivors include: his loving wife, Jill; two children, Cejay and Dianna, all of the home, Wichita; parents, David and Kelly Huhta, Longview, WA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Art and Trecia Wagner, Garfield, KS; sister, Melody (Doug) Wheeler, Rainer, OR; sister, Crystal (Doug) Thomas,
Kelso, WA; sister, Hannah (Nate) Cornman, Hillsboro, OR brother, Nick (Alexa) Huhta, Hudson, CO; brother, Caleb (Andrea) Huhta, Winlock, WA; brother-in-law, Doug (Rocio) Wagner, Garfield, KS; several nieces and nephews; paternal grandmother; material grandfather.
numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Proceeded in death by his paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother.
Funeral service will be 10am Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at TAAG Church, 20700 W. Kellogg, Goddard, KS with Pastor Mark Summers presiding. Burial will be at 3pm at the Larned Cemetery, Larned, KS with Pastor Larry Schumacher presiding. Visitation will be from 5pm-7pm Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Baker Funeral Home, 3224 N. Tyler Rd, Wichita, KS.
