Obituary

Antonio Guadalupe Martinez also known as Chach, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his son's home on Saturday, September 6th. He was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, to Alicia Mata and Antonio Martinez.

He is survived by his only child, Santana Guadalupe Martinez; his granddaughter, Emmira Jade Martinez; his sister, Mercedes A. Torres; and his nephew, Andre Julian Torres.

As a child, Antonio could often be found riding through the North end streets on two wheels, treating the world as his playground. Mischief was never far behind, but neither was laughter and fun.

In his young adulthood, he developed a deep love for cars — from hot rods to classic lowriders. A big fan of Cheech and Chong, he carried their humor and laid-back spirit with him throughout his life.

Antonio began his career as a machinist at Nance Manufacturing, which opened the door for him to step into Wichita's aircraft industry. Through hard work and determination, he earned a reputation for his skill, dedication, and reliability. He later advanced into quality assurance and concluded his career as an AS9100-certified lead auditor, serving as part of Spirit AeroSystems' internal audit team. He took great pride in contributing to the legacy of Wichita, the Air Capital of the World.

Beyond work, Chach had a true love for food — both cooking and eating. He loved preparing a mountains worth of food on a plate for family and friends, and you could expect an earful if you didn't lick the plate clean.

Antonio will be remembered for his loyalty, his humor, and his love for family and friends. His memory lives on in the stories he told, the laughter he shared, and the lives he touched.
