Betty Marie Simons Suiter, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 20, 2025, at the age of 86.

Betty was born in Cleo Springs, Oklahoma, on January 25, 1939, to Leslie and Ruby Simons. She grew up on a watermelon farm in Ringwood, where she found joy in the simple things and often shared stories of life on the farm. These memories stayed close to her heart throughout her life, shaping the woman she became strong, selfless, and devoted to family.

In 1956, Betty married Burtis Bruce Suiter, in Fairview, Oklahoma. Together, they raised four children: Barbara, Mike, Vernie, and Lisa. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage until Burt's passing in February 2015, a bond that remains an example of unwavering love and commitment.

Betty's career began in the fabric department at TG&Y in Wichita, KS, where she worked from 1973 to 1992. She then spent a brief time as a nanny before transitioning to Walmart, where she answered phones in the fitting room for over 20 years before retiring. Throughout her career, Betty was known for her warmth, kindness, and a strong work ethic that touched everyone she met.

A gifted seamstress and a wonderful cook, Betty's home was always full of love, laughter, and the delicious aromas of family dinners and holiday meals. She took great pride in hosting her family and always made sure her loved ones felt cared for and cherished. Her love for family was boundless, and she continually put them first, finding fulfillment in their company.

Betty had a deep and abiding faith. She was a prayer warrior who never hesitated to offer up prayers for her family and friends. Her humility, selflessness, and devotion to others made her a cherished figure in the lives of those who knew her. Betty had a passion for learning about her family's history and took great joy in researching her ancestry, seeking to preserve the stories and traditions of her ancestors for future generations.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Ann Jones, her husband Burtis Bruce Suiter, and her parents, Ruby and Leslie Simons. Betty also joins her siblings, Wilbur Simons, Clara Bell Farrington, Norma Long, and Shirley June, in eternal rest.

Betty is survived by her sons, Mike (Tammy) Suiter and Vernie Suiter; her daughter, Lisa (Greg) McIntyre; son-in-law Bill Jones; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters on the way. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion that will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come.

Though Betty has left this world, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She was a woman of quiet strength, a loving mother and grandmother, and a cherished friend. May we all remember her as she lived: with grace, humility, and a heart full of compassion.

A memorial service will be held at the Wellington FreeWill Baptist Church 802 E 16th St, Wellington, KS on October 3, 2025, at 10:30am.
