It is with great sadness we announce that Beverly Jean (Christensen) Blake, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, age 79, passed away on September 14th, 2026, in Wichita, KS. She was born on March 19th, 1947 to Dale Christensen and Vivian (Paul) Wood in Hillsboro, KS. She married her husband Thomas J. Blake on April 1st, 1977 in Wichita, KS.

Beverly loved working in sheet metal at Boeing for many years before beginning a new adventure at JCI, Industries of Wichita, KS until she retired in 2012. Beverly took pride in all the work that she did, but her true passion was spending time with her family. She was a kind, loving, generous mother and grandmother. She loved reading storybooks to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren while they sat on her lap. She would always let the kids run around in the sprinklers in her beautiful back yard. She loved cooking homemade meals that brought the whole family together. Some of her favorite foods to make were homemade french fries, fried bread, homemade chicken noodle soup, and biscuits and gravy (which all her family loved as well). She and her husband Tom loved going to all of their grandchildren's’ sporting events and were the kids number one fans.

She is preceded in death by; her parents; sister Mary Christensen (Sonny) Oliver; and her husband Thomas J. Blake (August 18th, 2025).

She is survived by; her daughters Karen Ornelas (Billy Soto) and Sharon (Todd) Levey; grandchildren Jarrod (Brenda) Ornelas, Noah (Shelbi) Ornelas, Madeline (Felix) Taylor, Joshua (Maddie) Levey, Carson Levey, and Connor Levey; great-grandchildren Melanie, Roman, Isaiah, Cambria, Corrine, and Beck; as well as her dear cousin and friend, Darlene Siebert.

Beverly loved her family fiercely and would do anything for them. She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local animal shelter.

Due to being unable to hold a celebration of life for Tom, a come and go luncheon in honor of both Beverly and Tom Blake will be held at Parkview Baptist Church Fellowship Hall-3430 S. Meridian Ave., Wichita, KS. From 2:00 PM-4:00 PM on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026.
