Carole Neal passed away on September 10, 2026. She retired as a Financial Advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services. Carole left behind an impressive and important legacy of profound devotion to her family and over 20 years of dedicated civic leadership in Wichita and across Kansas.

Carole was the beloved wife of Dennis Neal, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage, and the loving mother of her daughter, Brenda Neal, soul daughters, Christy Reddick, Angela Hickman, Leilani Pulley and Bridget Morgan. Her purpose in life was met with the births of her grandchildren. First a granddaughter and twin flame Madison Ann Stratton, and following with a grandson, Michael Andrew Siedhoff, that taught her to be a child again. Another granddaughter was found and cherished when Michael married Stephanie Michelle Siedhoff. She was a dedicated and supportive “YaYa” and could not have been prouder of them then when they gave her the ‘joys of life’, her great-grandchildren: Trenton Jaxson Stratton, Evelyn Grace Peters, Trevor Breaune, and Marshall Everett King, and Theodore Alexander Siedhoff.

As the last Matriarch of the Dixon Clan, she was preceded in death by her parents, Gernie G. Dixon and Gertrude I. (Blevins) Dixon; five brothers, Homer Glen (Bud), Charles William (Chuck), Donald (Don), Gernie G. Dixon (Gail) and Billy Lee (Bill); four sisters, Barbara G. (Sis) Denzel C. (Den), Betty L. and Lois Arlene. She loved too many nieces, nephews, and grands to ever be counted. Each one of them held Aunt Carole’s undivided attention and love. Her friends were seamlessly adopted as members of the family by proxy, with each person cherished deeply by her.

For over two decades, Carole was a guiding light in the Kansas civic community, bringing boundless warmth, energy, and dedication to everything she touched. Her leadership spanned every level of the League of Women Voters (LWV), where she served as Treasurer, Co- President of the LWV Wichita-Metro, Co-President of the LWV of Kansas (LWVK), and on both the State Education Fund and State Foundation Boards and as the tireless chair of the Voter Services Committee. In recognition of her extraordinary efforts to defeat the "Value Them Both" amendment, Carole was co-awarded the inaugural Betty Ladwig Service Award in 2023. Carole’s love for her family and her passionate commitment to civic life touched everyone who knew her. Her legacy will continue to inspire voters across Kansas for generations to come.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on October 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Sedgwick County Zoo (5555 W Zoo Blvd, Wichita, KS 67212).
