Carolyn Mary Larson, formerly of Park Falls, departed to her eternal rest on July 6, 2026.

Carolyn was born in Manila, Philippines in 1938 enduring the hardships of WWII. During this period, her father, US Army veteran Mansueto “Tony” Nasato, survived both the Bataan Death March and Japanese POW camps. After the war when Carolyn was just 7 years old, Tony, with his wife Mary and their five children, moved from the Philippines Islands to New York City. The entire family later relocated to Lompoc, California.

In 1955 Carolyn met her husband, Richard A. Larson, while attending an NCO dance at Vandenberg AFB, CA. Richard and Carolyn were married for 53 years until his death in 2008. Together they had 5 children; Derek, Richard (Michelle), Dara (Dave), Brad (Stephanie) and Stacy. Her 13 grandchildren, Derek Jr, Ricky Spencer, Jake, Emily, Nick, Zach, Jesse, Zack, Angela, Billy, Ricky, Courtney, and Cassidy and her 16 great grandchildren, Luke, Alice, Jaxie, Daisy, Rosalina, Lillianna, Claire, Harrison, Remi, Adeline, Savanna, Athena, Michael, David, Grayson and Addison will all miss their “Gigi’s” love.

Carolyn and Richard owned several businesses together in Park Falls, working side by side in a furniture store, a roller skating rink, a restaurant, and an ice cream and candy shop. Carolyn was a diligent worker, taking on a variety of tasks. She taught herself bookkeeping and payroll, scheduling of deliveries, ordering supplies and inventory, while mastering all the ins and outs of running a business.

Carolyn loved watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in their numerous sporting activities and events. She was competitive herself and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. She had an adventurous spirit and was always willing to try something new from zip lining, sailing, or white water canoeing down the Flambeau River. Carolyn’s last white water canoe trip down the North Fork was in 2025 at age 87. She also loved to travel and was even a bowler in her younger years. Carolyn was an avid Packer fan attending many games at Lambeau Field and collecting many autographs on her pink Packer cap.

Carolyn was preceded in death by; her spouse Richard Larson; parents Tony and Mary Nasato; older brother Bill Nasato; older sister Jose Weller; and daughter-in-law Renee Larson.
