Obituary

Carolyn Ruth Trow
March 6, 1945 – June 28, 2025

Carolyn Ruth Trow passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 80 years old.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on March 6, 1945, to Alta Marie Witt and George Varelmann Witt, Carolyn later made her home in Wichita, Kansas, where she built a life centered around service, compassion, and devotion.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Ronald Lee Trow Sr.

Carolyn is survived by her children Rhonda Lea Young (Kevin) and Ronald Lee Trow Jr. (Margaret); her granddaughters Jessica Rachel Logan (Jeramy) and Jillian Rebecca O'Malley; her brother James Lawerence Witt (Dellie); her sister Alta Jane Martin; and many nephews.

A nurse for 43 years, Carolyn dedicated her life to caring for the elderly and later to teaching and mentoring the next generation of healthcare workers. Her impact was profound and far-reaching, touching countless lives with her compassion and wisdom.

Carolyn was a voracious reader who loved her library, a lifelong crocheter, and a ruthless card player. She also volunteered with the Sedgwick County RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program). She lived by the values of God, family, and country—a quiet but steady force of strength, kindness, and devotion to those she loved.

She will be deeply missed.

Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in honor of Carolyn's life and legacy of care.
