Charles Lee Newman, 71, passed away on November 6, 2025. He was born on November 10, 1953, to Carrol Lee Newman and Opal Marie (Burling) Newman in Wichita, KS.

He was an avid WSU volleyball and basketball fan; he retired from WSU in 2015 after 20 plus years. Charles was in the Army from 1972 to 1978 for a time he was stationed in Germany. He loved to read western novels and watch sports on
TV. He was a loving Son, Brother and Uncle.

Charles is preceded in death by his father, Carrol Newman, brother, Roger Newman and stepfather Bruce Curtis.

He is survived by his mother, Opal M. Curtis; brothers, David Newman and  Larry (Brenda) Newman; sisters, Sharon (George) Hensley, Lisa (Bryan) Barnes, Heather (Jason) Moler and Delores (Edward) Ozbun; nephews, Tim (Amie) Ozbun, Dallas (Denise) Barnes, Jayson (Tristin) Moler, Jamie Moler and Jesse Moler; nieces, Tina (Brad) Query, Faith Barnes and Paige Barnes; great nieces and nephews, Andi, Erin Austyn Ozbun, Cooper Ozbun, Emmery and Jensen Harrison and Jasper Moler along with multiple others.

A Graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Monday, November 10, 2025, at Maize Park Cemetery 12722 West 53rd St. N. Maize, KS with Military Honors.
