Charles Raymond Salo was born November 20,1953 to Polly (Considine) and Carl Salo on Whidbey Island, WA.  He died from Frontotemporal Dementia at home in Wichita on February 9 with family by his side.  He leaves behind his wife, Judi; two stepdaughters Kate Dove (Rob) Voelker and Lauren (Bret) Barnes; four grandchildren Lola, Mallory, Cash, and Pete.

As an Air Force child, Chuck lived in numerous cities in the United States and spent several years in Germany.  After graduating from Wichita SE High School, he attended WSU where he made strong friendships with the members of Delta Upsilon Fraternity.

Chuck loved the outdoors— gardening, deer and upland bird hunting, golfing, and playing softball!  He also loved WSU sports, animals, and had an extensive cd music collection.

Until he married Judi in his early 40's, Chuck was a bachelor.  He immediately adapted to the family of 3 females and completed their family with his easy-going demeanor, love of cooking, and avid supporter of encouraging the girls to accomplish their dreams.  He was a kind-hearted person with a variety of friends, and he lived with a moral compass that advocated for the underdog and what was just.

To say he will be missed is an understatement. He was the love of Judi's life.  We are better because he was in our lives. There will be no service as was his wish.  Instead, he wanted everyone to toast a drink of their choice to 'good times and good friends.'
