Charne Michelle Mundy, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on February 10, 1957, in Wichita, Kansas, to Dimond and Frances Mundy, Charne lived her entire life in the city she called home.
She was preceded in death by; her son, Michael Pagano; and brothers, Dimond Jr. and Andrew.
She is survived by; her son, Matthew Pagano; daughters, Cassandra Hess (Jerry) and Chelsea Gonzalez (Chris); grandchildren, Bailey, Addison, Carter, Caden, Lydia, Stella, and Luca; as well as her sisters, Jackie Avant, Lori Russell, Kelly Ball, Julie Bailey, Denise Hazen, and Jennifer Herron.
Charne spent much of her career helping others as a mortgage broker with Kansas Mortgage Center before retiring. While she was proud of her work, her greatest joy in life was always her family.
Charne was the loving mother of four children and a proud grandmother. Charne treasured her time with her grandchildren and loved being a part of their lives. Her family was the center of her world, and the memories they made together will be cherished forever.
Charne also had a special four-legged companion who brought her tremendous happiness. Her son Matt gave her a beloved Basset Hound named Fred. Fred quickly became more than just Charne's dog—he was her constant companion and a favorite among everyone in her apartment community. Charne and Fred were a familiar and much-loved pair.
Charne loved to swim and enjoyed the simple pleasures of spending time with the people and animals she loved. She had a warm and caring spirit and a way of making those around her feel like family.
She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, sisters, extended family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched throughout the years.
Charne was part of a big Irish and Italian family, filled with generations of love, stories, personalities, and memories. Though her absence leaves an incredible void, her family finds comfort knowing that she is now at peace, resting free from pain and the ailments that troubled her.
Her memory will live on in her children, her grandchildren, her sisters, and in every family gathering where her presence will always be felt.
Rest peacefully, Charne. You are loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.
