Connie May Watts, 71, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her home on August 10, 2026.
Connie was born on October 16, 1954, in Minot, North Dakota, to Chester and Myrtle Weltikol. She later made her home in Wichita, where she dedicated many years of service to USD 259 before retiring as a custodian.
Connie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family meant the world to her, and she cherished the time she spent with those she loved. She was also a devoted dog lover, and her two dogs, Kira and Stella, held a very special place in her heart. Connie's kindness, friendship, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Connie was a Jehovah's Witness and held her faith close to her heart.
She is survived by; her sons Rick Haugen, Mark (Tonya) Haugen, Jamie (Chelsea) Haugen and Jeff Haugen; daughter Christa Haugen; grandchildren Zachary Cooper, Logan Haugen, Marissa Haugen, Austin Haugen, and Kyle Haugen; great grandchild Jax Lee Haugen; sisters Kathy and Gale Touchatt; brothers Galen (Margaret) Weltikol and Curtis Weltikol; as well as many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Myrtle Weltikol; her husband, Mike Watts; and her former husband, Lyle L. Haugen.
Connie will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her devotion to her beloved dogs, and the many lives she touched throughout her years. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the family home at a later date.
