Dale Segraves, age 86, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025.
Dale was born at his farm home on November 15, 1938 near Corbin, KS to Jim and Mable (Little) Segraves. Dale attended elementary school in Corbin and graduated from Caldwell High School in 1956. He then attended Kansas State Teachers college in Emporia, KS.
After college, he went to work for the Fleming Food Company in Wichita, KS where he delivered groceries. It was during this time that he met his future wife, Pat at Paul's IGA store. They were married on February 14, 1961 in Haysville, KS. Together they had three sons: Stewart, Jimmy, and Andy. Dale went into the aircraft industry in the early 60's working at Boeing in the tooling department. He spent his last 31 years of work at Learjet as a tool and die maker, retiring in 2002.
Dale would be considered an outdoorsman and nature lover. He enjoyed all types of hunting and fishing, especially bass fishing. He enjoyed planting gardens and always tomatoes to the end. Dale was an avid softball player and coached his son's baseball teams. He supported his sons and grandsons in so many school and sporting events, virtually never missing a game. Dale really enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Pat Segraves; and brothers Dick Segraves and Bud Segraves. Dale is survived by his sons; Stewart (Sheree) Segraves of Wichita, KS, Jimmy Segraves of Wichita, KS, Andy (Jody) Segraves of Wichita, KS; five grandchildren, Rex, Steven, Matt, Cole, and Dylan and two great grandchildren; sister June (Bruce) Dill; sister-in-law Betty Segraves, and many nieces and nephews.
