Darlene Marie Shoop, age 77 of Wichita, Kansas passed away on August 30, 2024. She was born on May 13, 1947, in Halifax, Pennsylvania to Herley and Anna (Matter) Dorman. Darlene was raised in Halifax and graduated from Halifax High School. She went on to further her education at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) with an associate's degree in accounting. Darlene met and married the love of her life, Gerald Lee Shoop on June 7,1969, in Halifax, PA. From this union came 2 children: Tricia L. Shoop and Kayle W. Shoop.

After Gerald and Darlene moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1991, she worked for Newer Technology for around 10 years and then for The Golf Warehouse in both of their accounting departments here in Wichita. Darlene decided to retire in 2012 enjoying her last few years with Gerald before his passing in 2014. She moved to The Gardens of Beacon Grove in New Port Richey, FL in 2015 before returning to Wichita in 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Kent K. Dorman and husband Gerald.

She is survived by her children: Tricia L. Shoop and Kayle W. Shoop and fiancée Michelle; brother Craig S. Dorman and wife Cheryl; 5 grandchildren: Ashley K. Hannon and husband Matt; Alexander I., Patrick C., Ryan D., and Zachary L. George; 3 great-grandchildren: Ariella and Matthew Hannon; Jensen George.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Harry Hines Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202, or Orchard Park Senior Center, 408 W. 9th, Wichita, KS 67212. There will be a private family service held later.
