Obituary

Deven Arland James Butler, age 20, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on September 3, 2026. He is survived by his loving parents, Stacy Butler, Joel Butler and Kati Robertson of Wichita Kansas, his siblings, Jaida Butler and Karson McCray of Wichita, Kansas, and Tyler Young of Clay Center, Kansas; his grandparents, Kenny and Meredith Farr of Leoti, Kansas, Lynn Lewis; Homer and Lila Butler of Haines City, Florida, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Although his time with us was far too short, the love, laughter, and memories he gave to everyone around him will live on forever.

Deven, was a young man with a heart that touched so many people. He had an incredible sense of humor and loved making people laugh. His smile, his personality, and the way he could brighten a room will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Deven, had a special way with little kids, and they absolutely loved being around him. He was fun, patient, and could make them smile and laugh so easily. Seeing the joy he brought to children was a beautiful reflection of the loving heart he carried.

He cared deeply about the homeless and loved helping them whenever he could. He didn’t need much recognition for the kindness he showed. Helping someone, making them smile, or simply being there for someone in need was just part of who he was.

Deven had a love for NASCAR and basketball and loved talking about the things that brought him joy. His interests were a big part of who he was and created countless memories that his family and friends will treasure forever.

Above all, Deven loved his family. He was deeply loved in return, and the bond he shared with those closest to him was incredibly special.

He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, family member, and friend. He was someone who could make you laugh, make children smile, and show kindness to someone who needed it most.

His life was far too short, but the love he gave and the lives he touched will continue far beyond his 20 years.

There are no words to express how deeply he will be missed. His family will carry his memory in their hearts, hold onto his laughter, remember his smile, and continue to love him every single day.

Until we meet again, Deven

Keep smiling down on us.
