Don Darrell Gribble, 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy rooted in
faith, family, and quiet strength.

Don was born on November 11, 1931, in Arkansas City, Kansas, to Hazell and Floyd Gribble. He was preceded
in death by his father, Floyd Gribble; his mother and stepfather, Hazell and Bob Townsley; his sister, Jolene (Ray) Romero; the love of his life, Terrill Gribble; and stepchildren, William Gibbs and Meghan Angell.

A proud graduate of Arkansas City High School, Class of 1949, and Cowley County Community College, Don built a lifelong career as a master plumber and master pipefitter. He owned and operated his own mechanical contracting company in Goddard, Kansas, and later continued his work at The Waldinger Corporation, retiring for the second time at the age of 83. His craftsmanship can be found throughout the community in projects such as Exploration Place, Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, St. Francis Hospital, St. Teresa Hospital, Boeing, and the Bank of America building, among others.

Don's work ethic was unmatched. After his first retirement, he attempted to slow down by taking classes at Wichita State University, but it did not take long for him to realize he was not ready to step away from work. He returned to the field, continuing to do what he loved for many more years.

More than anything he built with his hands, Don built a family. Family was the center of his life and the purpose behind everything he did. He was a devoted father who raised his children with the steady support of a close-knit extended family, instilling in them values of hard
work, resilience, and faith. He is survived by his three children, Stuart Gribble, Robbin (Grant) McLeod, and Don (Rhonda) Gribble; his grandchildren Tiffany, Mikey, and Andy Gribble; Brady (Sandra) McLeod and Keely (Aaron) Stevens; Hayley (Brett) LeMaster; Josh (Elise) Gribble; Victoria Gribble; and Tiffany Gribble; along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as his niece, Kippie (Mark) Masepohl, and nephews, Dodd and Stan Romero, children of his late sister, Jolene Romero.

Don's life was marked by dedication, perseverance, and a deep commitment to those around him. He approached life with determination and care, leaving a lasting impression on his family and all who knew him. A man of deep and steady faith, Don maintained a personal relationship with Jesus Christ throughout his life. Those who knew Don will remember a man who did not need many words to make an impact. He was
steadfast, dependable, and quietly strong, a man who showed his love through presence, provision, and unwavering commitment to those around him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Don's name to Phoenix Home Care
and Hospice of Wichita, ACG Hospice of Wichita, or a hospice organization of your choice.
Services will be held at Pathway Church (2001 N. Maize Road, Wichita, Kansas 67212) on Saturday, April 25,
2026, at 10:30 a.m., with lunch and time with the family immediately following.
