Donald Henry Brand was born on August 22, 1937, in Wichita, Kansas. He was the adopted child of Henry and Alice Brand. Don passed away at his home in Wichita on March 30, 2026, at age 88.

Don was a general contractor for most of his life. He was a member of Central Community Church, where he volunteered to serve on the sound and tech team. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Brand, his mother, Alice Brand, and a son, Charles Robert (Rob) Grier.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Brand, and his daughter-in-law, Jacque Grier. Twin grandsons Timothy Grier (Colette) and Thomas Grier (Courtney), and grandchildren by marriage include Shaun Johnson (deceased) and Troy Johnson. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Lola, Samantha, Troy Jr., Livi, and Raye.

Don will be remembered for his amazing work ethic in the construction business and his passion to "build it right". He will also be remembered for his honesty and willingness to step in when anyone needed help. He served as an active board member for Rental Owners, Inc., where he handled the catering for the Christmas dinner and helped to organize the summer barbecue. He also took care of and ran the sound system.

Don enjoyed traveling and was able to take several cruises. He loved taking long drives through the area he was visiting to enjoy the serenity of the deep forest and woodland.

Don was an integral part of our family and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at Central Community Church, 9100 W. Maple St., Wichita, Kansas, on a later date, to accommodate the return of his grandson Timothy, who is away serving in the U.S. Army.
