Donald "Gene" Brown, 90 of Haysville Kansas, died Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born October 17, 1934, in Levant Kansas to Carl H and Isabella (Tubbs)Brown.

When he was 17 he married Mildred Stupka, and they had 3 children. Randy Brown, Susan Brown, and Mike Brown.
He did carpentry work for many years helping his Uncle Floyd build homes. He also worked for Tom Thompson, Bob Mader and went on to work for himself laying carpet, linoleum and putting on formica and tile.

He started working for the US Postal Service in 1966 and retired in 1996 with 30 years of service.

He married Kathy Gall in 1981 who had two sons, Stacy and Erik Gall. Fourteen months later, they welcomed the birth of their son,
John Brown. Gene was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed going to Trenton lake where he had a trailer house. His most memorable trips was spending time in the Bahamas and going salmon fishing in Washington. He was so proud to have caught a 30 pound salmon. He and Kathy also enjoyed going on cruises. Later in life, Gene enjoyed watching football and baseball, and was always ready for a trip to a casino.

He is survived by his wife Kathy and son John Brown of Haysville, Kansas, Erik Gall and grandson Kaden of Perry Oklahoma, Stacy Gall (Cathie) of Little Rock, Arkansas, son Randy Brown (Priscilla) of Colby Kansas, daughter Susan Brown and friend, Gary of Pueblo North, Colorado and Mike Brown, (Bonnie) of Colby, Kansas. He had 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Derald Brown; sister-in-law Gala Brown, grandson Kory Gall, 2 brothers in-law Clayton Meier and Stanley Meier, and sister in-law Carol Meier.

Gene requested cremation, with no viewing or service.
