Floyd "Les" Richardson was born on September 5, 1946, in Abilene, KS. He went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2024, at home in Wichita, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Sybil (Dillon) Richardson, Mother and Father-in-law, Merle and Ethel Silkey, Brother-in-law, David Fisher, and Son-in-law John Radcliffe Jr.

He leaves behind his wife Bette, son Merle (Jenny) Richardson, daughter Becky (Randy) Poole, Stepdaughters, Denise (Rob) Berner, and Sheila (Chris) Arensberg. Grandchildren John (Danielle) Radcliffe III, Ryan (David) Hiser, Amanda (Alex) Quilling, Andrea (Jacob) Coy, Landon (Lizzie) Arensberg, Bennett Stockton-Richardson, Oliver Richardson, Peyton Arensberg, Alena, Clara and Isla Poole. Great-grandchildren Kolton, Greyson, Ellie, and Oliver Coy, John and Jason Radcliffe and Dawson Quilling and Les' sister, Gwen Fisher.

Les was a Christian man who walked in his faith. He attended Faith Christian Church from 1988 until its closing in 2021. He then attended Mercy Hill Baptist Church until his death. He spent years attending and preparing the Church's Men's breakfast, driving kids and grandkids to church camp and taking his daughter Becky to retreats and mission weeks. In his retired years he enjoyed going to the Silver Streak meetings and spending time with his friends and family. He also spent 35 years as a Boy Scout leader where he went to multiple Boy Scout camps with his troop, but Quivira Scout Ranch always held a special place in his heart.

He was a carpenter for over 40 years and was a member of the Carpenter and Millwright Union since 1982. Where he not only worked on many projects, we see in Wichita but all over the Midwest. During his time at the Carpenters union, he taught classes at the apprenticeship hall and served for many years as the local treasurer before his retirement in 2011.

Les enjoyed building cradles for new parents in his church and family friends. He was happiest working with his hands and spending time with his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Mercy Hill Church, 2110 W 45th St S, on October 19, 2024, at 2pm.
