Garry Albert Sullins, retired printing press operator age 70, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, in the comfort of his home in Wichita, Kansas.

Garry was born on December 15, 1955, to Albert and Catherine Sullins. From the beginning—Garry…with two r's—seemed destined to love all things Christmas. He carried that joy with him throughout his life, delighting in the magic of the season and sharing it generously with others. Garry had a deep affection for children. Though he never married or had children of his own, he shared an unbreakable bond with his niece, Michelle Norton, and nephew, Brian Norton. To them, Garry was everything—Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, trusted confidant, and unwavering presence. That bond remains strong and enduring.

Warm, outgoing, and quick to engage, Garry rarely met a stranger. A casual encounter often turned into a lively conversation, and no waitress escaped his cheerful greeting of "hello, young lady." He loved people, nature, and life's simple pleasures. An outdoor enthusiast, Garry found joy in hunting, fishing, and camping—and he was known for his playful sense of humor, including the occasional prank such as surprising guests with a deer mount in their bed.

A devoted Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan, Garry rarely missed a game. He loved music and happily sang along to whatever was playing on the radio. Movies were another passion—especially westerns, which he collected and enjoyed often. Friday nights at the movies followed by a couple of beers with his best friends were among his favorite traditions.

After being diagnosed with dementia, Garry moved to Wichita to be near his family. While the journey was not easy, his years there were filled with love, companionship, and meaningful moments. He enjoyed long phone conversations with his Kansas City friends. Garry adored his dog nieces, Molly and Abbygayle, and his dog nephew, Albert, loving them with his whole heart. Daily lunches with his brother-in-law, Danny Glamser,
brought brightness and familiarity to his days.

Most of all, Garry cherished time spent with his sister, Virginia Glamser. Together, they shared laughter, adventure, and a closeness that adulthood had rarely allowed. Even ordinary errands became memorable outings, infused with joy and mischief. Despite the challenges of dementia, Garry's feisty spirit and zest for life never faded.

Garry spent his final years living with his niece, Michelle Norton, and adopted nephew, Denver Veach, alongside Abbygayle and Albert. Together, they formed a strong and loving family unit—supporting one another and navigating a new way of life with patience, care, and devotion.

Garry will be remembered for his warmth, humor, generosity of spirit, and unwavering love for family. He leaves behind memories that will be cherished always. Garry was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Catherine and Albert Sullins, and his brother, Roger Sullins. He is lovingly remembered by those who will carry his memory in their hearts until they meet again: his sister, Virginia Glamser; his brother-in-law, Danny Glamser; his niece, Michelle Norton; his nephew, Brian Norton; and his adopted nephew, Denver Veach. Garry also leaves behind many cherished "nieces and nephews", cousins, and dear friends whose lives he touched in meaningful ways.

Garry will be laid to rest at Craddock Cemetery in Licking, Missouri. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date; details will be shared when arrangements are finalized.
