Gary J. Hageman was born in Wichita, Kansas, on March 12, 1959.  He passed away to be with his Lord and Savior on January 30, 2026, in Salina, Kansas.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester F. and Lucille E. (Theis) Hageman, and sister Janet I. Hageman. Also, a nephew, Matthew Hageman, and a niece, Jennifer Hays.

Gary is survived by his wife, Cheryl A. Hageman of Salina, KS, and two sons. John L. and Tara (Lager) Hageman of Great Falls, Montana, and William J. Hageman of Wichita, KS. Four grandchildren, Jackson, Brooklynn, Calla, and Tessa Hageman, of whom he loved very dearly.

Gary grew up with a very large family of siblings. Steve and Deborah Hageman, Wichita, KS. John Jones and Joyce Davis (Hageman) of Haysville, KS. Dr. John and Cathy (Hageman) Torres of Wichita, KS. Michael and Judy (Hageman) Murphy of Udall, KS. Tom and Brenda Hageman of Smithville, OK.  Scott and Mary (Hageman) Kotrba of Wichita, KS. Rick and Rhonda Hageman of Garden Plain, KS. Brad and Janice Hageman of Colwich, KS. Tom and Cheryl (Hageman) Stasiak of Wichita, KS. Vince and Jean (Hageman) Carver of Southwest Ranches, FL. Dr. Ronald and Patty (Hageman) Ferris of Wichita, KS.  Glen and Erin Hageman of Wichita, KS.

Gary also has 53 nieces and nephews and 36 great nieces and nephews.

When Gary was growing up, he loved to farm with his brothers for his Uncle Louis.  After High school, he went directly to Star Lumber and worked for 30 years before retiring.

He loved the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys and was always ready to watch a game.

As a young man, he attended St. Pat's school and then finished his high school years at Bishop Carroll.  He was very proud of both schools and took with him many lifelong friends after graduating.

Gary loved talking to people; he never met a stranger.  He had the gift of gab and never missed an occasion to spread the word of God.

Gary was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina and is also survived by many brothers and sisters.

A Rosary will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 645 N 119th St W
Wichita, KS with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
