Gene W. Eidson, 59, passed away Friday, March 28, at home in Valley Center, Kansas where he had lived since 2006.

He was born in Beaver, Oklahoma on September 20, 1965, to G.W. and Darlene (Hansen) Eidson while the family lived in Liberal, Kansas. At about age 4, they moved to the White City, Kansas area. He attended White City Schools.

He married Myra Bolinder in July 1985. To this union 3 children were born, Kyle, Josh and Ryan. They later divorced.

He met Faye Finley Galliart in 2005. They started dating in 2006, then married in 2014.

If the equipment had a steering wheel, tires or tracks, he could maneuver it.

He held a CDL for 36 years hauling cattle (his favorite), grain, cabinets, vehicles and airplane parts to and from California as well as fresh fruits and veggies from California to Arizona, only stopping because of his health.

He is survived by his wife Faye; sons, Kyle and wife Ruth, Ryan and his fiancé Alisha; bonus kids Rose and Tim Galliart; 6 grandkids, Elizabeth, Ayrabella, Octavia, Leo, Jed and Eldon; brother, Dudley and wife Debbie of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nieces, Heather Eidson Cain, Amanda Eidson, Rheannon Eidson, Brandy Eidson and nephew, Chris Eidson; several cousins and lots of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, G.W. and Darlene (Hansen) Eidson; infant sister, Diana; brother, Dan and infant son, Josh.

A Memorial Service will be held on May 17, 2025, at 10:00 am at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 802 E Trapp St., Herington, Kansas 67449. Lunch will follow at the church after the Graveside Service.
