Heather Nicole Crane, 40, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on September 2, 2026, in Wichita. She was born on April 8, 1986, at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, KS, to Hank and Mary Crane and spent her life rooted in the community that shaped her.

Heather’s life was marked by care for others, devotion to her family, and pride in the paths she chose. She attended Chisolm Trail Elementary from kindergarten through fifth grade, Brooks Middle Magnet for sixth through eighth grades, and Heights High School for ninth through twelfth grades. She continued her education at Butler County Community College, where she earned her CNA license, preparing for a career centered on compassion and service.

She worked at Select Specialty Hospital and Harry Hynes Hospice as a CNA and HHA. In those roles, Heather gave comfort and support to those in need, offering the kind of steady presence that leaves a lasting impression on the lives of patients and families alike.

Outside of work, Heather loved music and found great joy in supporting her children in bowling and dirt track racing. Some of her happiest moments were spent cheering them on, sharing in their interests, and being present for the milestones and memories that matter most.

Above all, Heather will be remembered for the love she gave to her family. She is survived by her husband, Carl Frey; her mother, Mary Crane; her sister, Emily Crane/Pollina; her brother, Joshua Crane, and his wife, Aimee; and her children, Tyler Newell, Kasey Newell, Kaitlyn Newell, and Kaidence Frey. Each of them carries forward the memory of her love, her encouragement, and the place she held at the heart of their family.

Heather was preceded in death by her father, Hank Crane, and by her grandparents, Jimmie and Marguerite Crane and Edward and Frances Plevka.

Heather Nicole Crane will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her kindness, dedication, and love for her family will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
