Ian Alexander Shelton, 30, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on December 3, 2025, under tragic circumstances at Afton Lake. His loss is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

Ian was born on March 20, 1995, in Wichita at Wesley Hospital, the only son of Mark and Stacy Shelton. From the very beginning, Ian brought energy, laughter, and a spark of mischief into the lives of those around him.

He was an outgoing, goofy soul who never met a stranger and could make anyone smile. Ian loved the outdoors and found peace in fishing, joy in playing his guitar, and excitement in flying his drone. He had a gentle heart for animals and took great pride in caring for them. Above all else, Ian was an extremely proud and devoted father. His daughter, Autumn, was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with her.

Ian was preceded in death by his father, Mark Shelton; grandmothers Nancy Conway and Janet Elliott; grandfathers R. Lee Elliott and Harold Shelton.

He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Autumn Shelton of Wichita; his loving mother, Stacy Shelton of Wichita; his sisters, Alexis Shelton of Wichita and Jessica Vail (Jackson, Jacob, Jordyn) of Emporia; his grandfather, Gordon Pendergraft of Marion; as well as many devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and dear friends whose lives were brighter because of him.

Ian's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the many friends, volunteers, and community members who worked tirelessly in the search to bring him home. Your compassion, determination, and kindness during an unimaginable time will never be forgotten. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Ian will be remembered for his laughter, his big personality, his love for his daughter, and the warmth he shared so freely. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created will live on in all who loved him.

A service will be held at Pine Valley Christian Church, 5620 E 21st St N in Wichita, Kansas, on Saturday, April 11 at 2:00 PM.
