James Clayton Truitt (Clay) age 68 passed away in Stafford, Kansas at Leisure Homestead on October 3, 2025. He was born on August 1, 1957 to Larry and Charlotte Truitt in Stafford, Kansas.

Clay is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Charlotte Truitt and step- father Kenny Theis.

He is survived by his siblings, Rod Truitt (Karen), Mitch Truitt (Kaydene), Angela Bradshaw (Mike); Step siblings, Jim, Molly and Russ as well as many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Clay loved sports and was a 3-sport athlete at Fairfield High School in Langdon, Kansas. He was the quarterback in football starting his Freshman year. He also held the pole-vaulting record for many, many years. He was an avid Chiefs fan! He lived most of his adult life in Hays, Kansas before moving to Stafford. Clay loved classic rock 'n roll and was a collector of concert t-shirts. His favorite pastime at Leisure Homestead was coloring. He was well known as the guy who colors classic cars! He always had some artwork and a smile to share with everyone he met. He had a very loving heart and will be missed by many.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
