James William Gordon of Wichita, born on October 17,1939 in Tulsa Oklahoma, passed away quietly on the morning of August 28, 2025 with his son at his side. Jim as he was affectionately called was under the caring hands of Harry Hynes Hospice Doctors and Nurses.

He is preceded in death by his: Mother Marth Haupt. Father George Gordon. Sister Mildred (Gordon) Damet. Jim is survived by his only child Stephen Gordon (Alicia) Three Grandchildren: Christine Mork (Matthew); Anthony Gordon and Michaela DeBolt (Daniel) Four Great Grandchildren: Ian Mork; Kailee Mork; Alexander Murray-Gordon and Kimberly Gordon as well his ex-wife Patricia (Self) Anderson.

Jim attended a semester at Tulsa University where he met Patricia in a Business Law class. Later they married and had a son Steve. James worked for A.T&T as a manager and then Conoco where he retired as a Sales Representative. Jim was dearly loved by his family and friends. When there was someone in need; Jim was there with a helping hand, or gentle words of wisdom. He was always checking in with family and his friends making sure everyone was okay. Jim had a quiet strength about him that drew people into his life and once there, he made sure that you were acknowledged and seen. His quick wit, smile, laughter and presence will be greatly missed.

It was Jim's wish to be cremated, and his remains scattered in his beloved State of Oklahoma. After Jim's passing the family carefully deliberated over a few possibilities and settled on a thoughtful and sentimental decision.

On September 20, 2025 Jim's Family will gather to scatter his remains over the grave of his mother Martha Gordon.

This will be in Sapulpa Oklahoma at Green Funeral Home and Cemetery - The Garden of Prayer in the Northwest section; plot 115.

A simple reading and Prayer will be said. The family will then gather at Braums before Stephen and the family head back to Wichita. All are welcome to both.

If you knew Jim, then you knew he would not want a big production. Just loved ones telling stories and laughing. So in lieu of frilly flowers; the family has requested that you donate to the Harry Hynes Hospital in his memory to continue James' legacy of helping others.
