Jeff Looney passed away peacefully on January 14 at the age of 68. He was born on January 13, 1958, in Goshen, Indiana. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jeff was a devoted husband, father, family man, Christian, and friend. He was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and generosity. He touched the lives of many through his presence, words, and actions. To those who loved him, Jeff was a steady source of support, wisdom, and care.
He is survived by his wife, Deb Looney, of almost 50 year; daughters, Misty Looney, Amber Dillard, and Stacy (David) Bole; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kayla (Jacob), Kane, Gage, Melanie, Abigail, and Zoe; great-grandson, Reid; sisters, Deb (Earl) Bledsoe and Pam Santiago; and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Syble Beard.
Jeff was a devout Southern Baptist. He spent many hours over the years volunteering at First Southern Baptist, Southwest Baptist, and, most recently, at Sharon Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon from 2018 until his death. Jeff retired as a mechanic from Case New Holland in October 2025.
Jeff enjoyed dirt track racing, Miami Dolphins football, and The Grinch. Jeff was passionate about serving others, from doing simple repairs to just being a friend. He loved visiting Branson, Missouri, and taking trips to see family. Above all, he treasured time spent with those he loved.
A celebration of life service will be held on January 24, 2026, at Sharon Baptist Church, located at 2221 S. Oliver, Wichita, KS. Viewing will be from 10:00–11:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
Jeff Looney's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be remembered always and missed beyond words.
