Jerry Dean Lowry Sr, 75, of Independence, KS - Formerly of Neodesha, KS, passed away on May 18th, 2026. He was born on August 18th, 1950, in Neodesha, Kansas, to Opal M. Lowry and Robert O. Lowry.

Jerry was known for his humor, hard work, and dedication to his family. He enjoyed hanging out with his grandson Bodhi and reminiscing on his time he had with all his friends; he loved spending time with family and friends.

He worked as a finished carpenter for many years and was a proud jack of all trades. He also went to the job corps in Casper, Wyoming, where he earned his golden gloves for boxing.

Jerry is survived by his sons Jerry Lowry Jr, Jesse Busse and Patrick Roach, Grandkids - Jerry Lowry III, Haidyn Lowry (Kade), Bodhi Lowry, Jesse (Lea) Busse, Nick Busse, Hollie Busse, Ariyah Roach, Damien Roach, Kody Reed, Krystal Reed, Korey Reed, Dianna (Gary) Gammon, Katelyn Reed, Alissa Reed & many numerous great grandchildren. Siblings include - Sue Demoret and Chuck Lowry Jr. Long time family friends are Ryan Millar and Ron McBride.

He was preceded in death by his former wife Diana Nixon, Parents - Opal M. Lowry and Robert O. Lowry, Children - Kevin Reed, Siblings - Jim Lowry, Pat Lowry, Loretta Cliffton, Judy Martin, Robert Lowry Jr. and Veora K. Lowry.

A celebration of life service will be held 5/30/2026 at The Lord's Chapel in Neodesha Kansas at 3:00 pm.

The family would like to thank Fredonia Regional Hospital, and a special thank you to Jonathan Rodriquez and friends for their care and support. Another special thank you to Gary and Kerry Lambert for the donation of food and church services.

Jerry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
