Joanne Faye
Lehr
Apr 19, 1944 — Jun 13, 2026
Wichita
Joanne Faye Ediger Lehr was born on April 19, 1944, in Hutchinson, KS, to Dick and Hilda Ediger. She was the fourth of six children. She was raised on a farm just south of Inman and attended elementary and high school in Inman, KS. Following high school, she worked at various jobs in Hutchinson, including being an Ophthalmologist Assistant and working for the Reno County Sheriff’s Office. In 1980 she moved to Wichita, KS, and worked for the Postal Inspection Service. After that she worked as a clerk in the Maintenance Department at the U.S. Postal Service. She retired after 30 years. After retiring from the Postal Service she worked part time for Reflection Ridge Dental. She worked there until her health declined in 2026.
Joanne attended Ridgepoint Church where she served as church greeter and helped with the 2-year-olds' Sunday School. She also went on a mission trip to Mexico. Joanne loved spending time in the water and spent a lot of time in her pool and also at a beach whenever she had the opportunity. She started an annual "nieces' sleepover weekend" approximately 12 years ago. The nieces would come to her house, and they would spend time swimming, eating, and playing games into the night. The next morning they would enjoy brunch together before everyone went home. She also enjoyed playing cards and games with friends and family.
Joanne and her brothers and sister were very close, and after their parents passed away, they managed to get together once a month for lunch, sometimes playing games, for the past 30 years.
Her hobbies included reading, watching TV and traveling.
Joanne is survived by her son, Brad Voth, her four brothers, Richard (Virginia) Ediger, Don (Nancy) Ediger, Bill (Jerilyn) Ediger and Gary Ediger, her sister, Jeannine (Archie) Eutsler, two grandchildren, Andrah (Udi) deAlwis and Alex Voth, many nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dave, and a daughter Sheli. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23 at 11:00 A.M. at Ridgepoint Church, 8000 W. 21st St., Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ridgepoint Church.
