It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Nicolas Amirr, who departed this world on Veteran's Day, November 11th, 2025, surrounded by his loving Family in the comfort of his home.
Joseph was born on June 27th, 1937 in Newark, NJ to his parents Kaleel and Angelina.
Joseph married Elizabeth Rita Yunos on June 3rd, 1961. They proceeded to raise a large family, becoming the parents of daughter Donna(Mark), son Mark(Leslie), son Glen(Denine) daughter Kim, son Steven, and son AJ( Carolyn). Joseph is also the proud grandparent of ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Upon moving to Wichita, KS, Joseph was employed with Beech Aircraft, where he eventually retired.
Joseph was also a proud member of the US Military, having served in the Air Force and Army, as well as in Desert Storm as a Reservist. He ultimately retired from the military after twenty five years of combined service.
Joseph lived the rest of his days volunteering at McConnell Air Force Base, lunching with his Army friends, and most importantly taking care of his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Joseph will remain close to our hearts and be forever missed. He was eighty-eight years young.
Services will be held at Baker Funeral Home, N. Tyler Road, on Monday November 17th at 10am followed by interment at Winfield Veterans Cemetery.
