Kyle Walter Newman

Kyle Walter Newman passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 7, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 34. Born on April 4, 1991, in Springfield, Missouri, Kyle courageously battled type 1 diabetes for 26 years and endured five years on dialysis due to kidney failure. Despite the physical hardships he faced, Kyle lived each day with unwavering faith, always trusting that Jesus was guiding his every step.

Kyle cherished time with his family and found great joy in reconnecting with loved ones in Wichita. One of the most meaningful chapters of his life was spent deepening his relationship with his mother, Brenda, before her passing in 2017, and sharing precious time with his Grandpa Walter prior to his death in 2024. He held close bonds with his siblings—walking his sister Linda down the aisle at her wedding, sharing a deep spiritual connection with her over the years, and having a fierce, loving, and passionate relationship with his sister Crystal that was as strong as it was honest. Kyle loved deeply both his biological family and his family in Christ.

He attended several schools throughout his life but fondly remembered his time playing high school football in Joplin, Missouri, where his Uncle Jerry was a teacher. He later earned his high school diploma in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and went on to attend Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa.

Kyle had a vibrant sense of humor and was always ready with a joke. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July, which he celebrated enthusiastically with fireworks, family, and friends. Holidays were a special time for Kyle, full of joy, reunion, and heartfelt conversations—especially about life and theology. An outdoorsman at heart, Kyle enjoyed camping, fishing, and gaming in his free time. Over the years, he held many jobs: Uber driver, car mechanic, railroad worker, oil field laborer, farm hand, hotel operator, and multitasking at Sonic Drive-In. No matter what he was doing, Kyle's greatest desire was to share the message of Jesus' love and the transformation he experienced through his faith.

Kyle was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Newman and Brenda Lee Newman; his grandparents, Donald and Rita Newman and Walter Kruckenberg; his aunt, Donita Garza; uncle, Mike Newman; and cousin, Alex Kopf.

He is survived by his sisters, Linda Ann Nutter (Curtis) of Fulton, MO, and their sons Elijah, Gabriel, Malachi, and Azariah; and Crystal Marie Bryant (Brandon) of Fairview, OK, and their children Cooper, Asher, Oliver, Elise, and Joelle. He is also survived by his half-brothers Patrick Newman (Jessica) of Carbondale, KS, and their children Claire, Mason, Hutson, and Bryson; Jeremy Newman of San Antonio, TX; and Benjamin Newman (Melissa) of Enid, OK, and their children Dominic, Weston, Regan, and Emberly.

Kyle leaves behind his grandmother Sharon Knoll and grandfather Richard Knoll, as well as a large extended family: Uncle Jerry Kruckenberg and daughters Amanda, Amber, Angelee, and Hannah; Uncle Wesley Kruckenberg (Kama) and daughters Lachez and Bryndal; Aunt Robin Kopf (JR) and children Erica and Malachi; Uncle Danny Garza and daughters Leah and Rachel; and Uncle Charlie Newman (Delana), along with many other beloved relatives and friends too numerous to name.

A viewing will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Baker Funeral Home West 3224 N. Tyler Rd. Wichita, KS.

Funeral services will take place at Bible Baptist Church in Alva, OK, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at Alva Municipal Cemetery.

Kyle's life was a testimony of faith, perseverance, and love. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
