With sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother. Linda passed in her sleep surrounded by generations of loved ones on August 11, 2026, in Wichita.

She enjoyed the simple pleasures like time with family and friends…and bingo.

Linda was also a lifelong artist who created beauty in many media over the years.

She is preceded in death by eight siblings, one son, Thomas L. Garrett, and one daughter, Shari J. Owens, and three grandchildren.

Linda is survived by a brother: Ed (Jerri) Pinkley, two sons: Andrew (Michelle) Garrett, and Adam (Shari) Powell, 19 grandchildren: Brad VanPelt, Zach (Stephanie) VanPelt, Casey (Sara) VanPelt, Melissa (Dustin) Baughn, Andy Williams, Kandis (Joshua) Elkins, Krista (John) Moser, BJ (Mallory) Huffman, Taylor (Derek) Allphin, Casey Heger, Chris (Franka) Heger, Aurora Garrett, Oscar Garrett, Brad (Chasity) Scott, Adam (Anna) Nighswonger, Christian Dalton, Tori Powell, Brendan (Shey) Powell, Christopher Powell, dozens of great grandchildren, and at least one great-great grandchild.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am, August 23, at the Kiwanis Park Community Center in Wichita.
