Linda Sherry (Powell) Warrington died from a long battle with heart disease on March 26, at home with loved ones. She had been in hospice care since February. She was 86.

Born in Green Castle, MO in 1938, she was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Powell; mother, Ruey Powell; brother, David Powell and son, James Dean Cowan.

Surviving family members include longtime partner, Phil Uhlik of Wichita; son, Randy (Vickie) Cowan of Kirksville, MO; daughter, Sherry Cowan of Wichita; grandchildren, Nash (Alanna) DeJesus of Rayville, MO, Tessa (Nick) Carson of O'Fallon IL, Carli (Lloyd) Long of Kirksville, MO; great-grandchildren, Roman Silvius, Raegan and Oliver DeJesus, Laila, Scotland and Jude Long; nephews, Kimberly and Tyler Powell of Hornersville, MO and a plethora of cousins and their extended families, namely the Davidsons and Williams's from Augusta.

Linda's first job was at Montgomery Ward in El Dorado. She went to school nights to become an interior designer. She then sold furniture at Lunger's of Augusta followed by Horton's Furniture in Wichita for 30 years until retirement. She was also an accomplished artist.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 1:30 pm at Baker Funeral Home West, 3224 N. Tyler Rd., Wichita, KS 67205.
