Maria (Iglesias) Hernandez, 85, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 23, 2025. Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, on January 3, 1940, Maria was known for her infectious smile and caring heart. She was a natural caregiver who loved to travel, garden, and spend time with her daughters and grandkids. A vibrant loving soul, she enjoyed playing games with her family and was always happiest when surrounded by her loved ones.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Carlos Hernandez; her four daughters, Elsy, Patricia, Fanny, and Claudia (Mari); three siblings, Ligia, Zoraida, Jose Manuel; five grandchildren, Ana María, Jose Carlos, Andres Felipe, Alex, and Kevin; two great-grandchildren, Elena and Everett; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers. Maria's kindness and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Baker Funeral Home, 3224 N Tyler Rd, Wichita, KS 67205.
