Mary Ann Ellison, age 86, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas.

Mary Ann was born on December 10, 1939, in Winfield, Kansas, to Guy and Bea Trebbe. She was raised in Gordon, Kansas, and Browntown, Kansas, and attended school in Augusta, Kansas.

In May 1957, Mary Ann married David Watson. Together they welcomed four children: Daveita Dobbins of Wichita, Kansas; Roger Watson (Melina) of Wichita, Kansas; Barbara Guay of Wichita, Kansas; and Michael Watson (Kim) of Costa Mesa, California. 

After 13 years, Mary Ann's marriage to David Watson ended in divorce. She later married three more times. Those marriages also ended, and she spent the last 25 years of her life happily independent, devoted to her family, friends, and the things she loved most.

Mary Ann was blessed with nine grandchildren: Heath Poe, David Poe, Nathen Guay, Jessica Jahr, Justin Watson, Rhianna Giron, Jason Allen, Minerva Merquita, and Madeline Watson. She was also the proud great-grandmother of three great-grandchildren.

Throughout her working years, Mary Ann was employed at Beech Aircraft in upholstery and later at Learjet in sheet metal. Although she took pride in all of her work, her favorite position was serving as a House Manager at Inter-Faith Ministries' homeless shelter, where she found great fulfillment helping those in need and making a difference in the lives of others.

Mary Ann was determined to earn her high school diploma and returned to school later in life to obtain her GED, proving that it is never too late to achieve your goals.

Outside of work, Mary Ann found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time fishing, especially with her family, and treasured every opportunity to be with her grandchildren. When she wasn't at her favorite fishing spot, she could often be found in the kitchen preparing meals for those she loved.

Mary Ann had a wonderful sense of humor and a playful spirit. She loved joking with the staff at her nursing facility and was famous for making funny faces whenever someone tried to take her picture. Her laughter, warmth, and ability to make others smile will be remembered by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her four children; her nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her sister, Gwen Tucker of El Dorado, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Bea Trebbe, and her sister, Guyla Peck.

A memorial service celebrating Mary Ann's life will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 3224 N. Tyler Road, Wichita, KS 67205. Burial of her cremated remains will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta, Kansas.

Mary Ann's greatest legacy was the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
