Mrs. Mary Ann (Lagree) Humphrey was born June 18, 1938, and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 7, 2026. She was 87 years old. Mary Ann was born at Axtell Christian Hospital in Newton, Kansas to Lawrence Ray Lagree (1912-2000) and Esther (Kramer) Lagree (1915-1961). Mary Ann lived part of her childhood in Newton, Kansas, and part of it in Wichita, Kansas. Her parents both worked for Boeing during World War II and the family lived in the temporary housing area known as Plainview, where she attended Will Rogers Grade School
and one year at Plainview High School. After spending time in Wichita, her family returned to Newton for her last three years in high school where she graduated in 1956.

She met Larry Humphrey in the nursery at the First Baptist Church in Newton, Kansas. He is listed in her baby book as one of her first playmates. Upon returning to Newton, she reconnected with Larry. They dated for four years and were married at the First Baptist Church in Newton on September 3, 1961.

At the age of nine, Mary Ann accepted Christ at First Baptist Church of Wichita and was baptized by Dr. F. B. Thorne. She was a faithful servant in several different churches during her lifetime, teaching children and women in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Christian Women's Club. She also served as a youth sponsor, nursery coordinator, kitchen hostess, and helped with outreach to shut-ins. Mary Ann attended Bethel College for one year and worked for Midland National Bank of Newton, American Savings and Loan, and Rebecca Long & Associates. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, going to estate sales and any of her children's or grandchildren's activities or sporting events.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 64 years, Larry Humphrey, and their two children, Debra (Herb) Southworth and Bill (Jyn) Humphrey. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Audrey (Caleb) Wolters, Daniel (Lauren) Southworth, Brooke Humphrey and Morgan Humphrey, and four great grandchildren, Emersyn Southworth, Owen Wolters, Judah Southworth and Liam Wolters. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Ray and Esther (Kramer) Lagree and her brothers Richard E. Lagree and Gary D. Lagree.
