Michael Conrad
Doolin
Feb 4, 1942 — Aug 17, 2024
Wichita
Michael Conrad Doolin, a cherished husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 17, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on February 4, 1942, Michael was a man whose life was defined by his love for family, his passion for history, and his deep affection for animals. He loved to cook for the hunting crew who hunted Elk annually in Creed, Colorado.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, William Conrad and Ruth Colleen Doolin, as well as his grandson, Zachary. His memory lives on through his devoted wife, Dinah Doolin; his daughters, Terri Doolin and Michelle Garris; and his stepsons, Michael (Jann) Thornton, Robby (Terri) Thornton, and Scott (Stevey) Thornton.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whose lives he profoundly influenced, 11 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Michael's life was enriched by his deep love for animals and the outdoors. An avid hunter, he found joy in nature and was his happiest, in the mountains of Colorado. He had a special bond with all animals, but particularly his cherished Poodle "Killer Dog" and Corgi "Butch". His family finds solace in knowing that he has been reunited with them and all the loyal companions he has loved and lost over the years. A true knowledge seeker, with a deep appreciation for history, Mike was rarely seen without a book in hand, a documentary on the television, or his face buried in the computer. Mike will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be mid-September with his cremated remains being scattered in the Mountains of Creed Colorado. The date and time will be announced by his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local animal shelter or historical society in Michael's memory.
Rest in peace, Michael Conrad Doolin. Your spirit will always shine brightly in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of being loved by you.
