There is a particular kind of man woven into the lore of the Midwest. The one with a truck, a toolbox, and the deeply rooted conviction that when someone needs help, you show up.

Mike was that man.

A lifelong Kansan and plumber by trade, he spent his life fixing things and making connections. If there was a leak, a car that needed work, something that needed hauled, or simply someone who needed a hand, he was only a phone call away. Generous with his time, his knowledge, and himself, he was the person family and friends knew they could rely upon.

He loved the Kansas City Chiefs, bowling, working on cars, creating things with his hands, and pondering considerably larger mysteries. He was practical and curious, dependable and creative, equally willing to fix what was broken and wonder about what could never quite be explained.

His family extended far beyond the traditional lines of kinship. He built a remarkable network of children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends who became family simply because he loved them as such. His legacy lives within those connections and the countless lives made better because he showed up.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Traci Harrison, and Kaye Powers.

He is survived by his brothers, Gregory Harrison (Shannon) and Richard Harrison; his sisters, Dena Muniz (Steven), Misty Powers, Ginger Powers; and his children, Garrett Huckins, Lacy Huckins, Kayla Huckins, Alyssa Rikard (Jesse), Catlin Simon (Martin), Alixandra Harrison, Tristan Simon (Kylie), Skylar Simon, and Darling Simon (Devon). He also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren.

Mike is also survived by Amy Harrison whom he shares children with. Among those who remained especially dear to him were Jodie and Joe Simon. He was loved by countless friends, extended family, aunts, uncles, coworkers, and his Faire family, many of whom became family in every way that mattered.

He will be deeply missed by the family he was born into, the family he built, and the many people fortunate enough to know that, if they called, he would come.
