Michael Chad
Vogt
Sep 8, 1981 — Jul 13, 2026
Wichita
If you knew Chad, you knew laughter. Whether through a perfectly timed joke, an off-the-cuff remark, or one of his spontaneous antics, he had a gift for making people laugh. He never met a stranger, choosing instead to greet everyone with acceptance, authenticity, and a genuine interest in getting to know them.
Chad was born to Carla and Michael Vogt, a proud father to Malia, beloved brother to Brandon and Thomacina, and Loretta, whose enduring bond with Chad remained an important part of his life for many years. As he continued growing, Chad was determined to rebuild what time had interrupted, strengthen his relationship with Malia, and become the father he believed she deserved. Although he did not live to see that chapter fully written, the love he carried for his daughter was unquestionable.
Perhaps Chad's greatest victory was not perfection, but perseverance. He was succeeding in his sobriety and intentionally becoming a more empathetic and self-aware man. He was working to heal relationships, especially with his daughter, and embraced the belief that it is never too late to grow. May we remember him not only for who he was, but also for the man he was becoming.
