With heavy hearts and deep love, the family of Michael Wiley, age

69, of Derby, Kansas, announces his passing on June 16, 2026.

Michael passed away peacefully at home following a lengthy

battle with COPD.

Michael was born on December 14, 1956, in Russell, Kansas, to

Parker and Mildred Wiley. He graduated from South Barber High

School in 1975 and later attended Salina Vocational College. He

worked on the family farm and later in the aircraft industry with

Honeywell and Cessna. Michael enjoyed golfing, traveling,

photography, and watching game shows. On October 17, 2015,

he married his beloved wife, Susan Malone.

Michael was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-

grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed and lovingly

remembered by all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Susan; his daughters,

Dawn Pennel and Darcy Winingham; his nephew, Joshua Wiley;

and his stepdaughters, Amy Malone-Torres (Ed) and Lisa O’Hara

(Duran). He also leaves behind his six grandchildren, his great-

grandson, his five step-grandchildren, Ed and his great-niece and

great-great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Parker and Mildred

Wiley, and his brother, Russell Wiley.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 28, from 4:00

p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at BC’s Bar and Grill, 4423 S. Broadway,

Wichita, Kansas. Friends and family are invited to gather, share

memories, and honor the life of a man who meant so much to so

many. The family will hold a private ceremony to scatter his ashes

at a later date.
