Monte Jon Manjeot, 62, of Pretty Prairie, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. Monte was born on February 18, 1963, in Kingman, Kansas to Ruby and Marion Manjeot.

Monte grew up in Murdock and attended school in Murdock and in Kingman. After school he married Cindy Florentin and they had 3 children: Amber, Monica and Chris. Monte LOVED fishing. The family would often spend weeks camping at the river or lake during the summers when the children were younger, camping as a family and with friends.  He always had trout lines in the water and would fish all day.

Monte liked staying busy, he enjoyed throwing darts, throwing horseshoes, medal detecting, gardening, trapping and hunting. Monte loved to find old cars to put in the demo derby and always had a big crowd cheering for him.

He worked at several different jobs throughout his life including Farrar's, Evan's Construction, Rusty Eck Ford and Steven Chrysler Jeep and Dodge. He liked selling cars and helping others get a new vehicle.

Monte is survived by his mother, Ruby Manjeot of Murdock, KS; daughters, Amber (Jeremiah Baber) of Cheney, KS; Monica (Fiancé Eric Becker) of Wichita, KS. Sister, Rita. Stepchildren Ty Hill of Wichita, KS; Tommy Hill of Cheney, KS. Nephews, Rodney Sowers; Tommy Sowers.

He is preceded in death by his Son, Chris (Christopher) Manjeot; Brothers, Darrell and Stanley Patrick; Father, Marion Manjeot.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Lake Afton in the Pavilion building on Thursday October 16, 2025 at 1pm.
