Pamela Ann Harris-Bashford, 65, of Park City, Kansas, passed away on September 1, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas.

Pamela was born on March 3, 1961, in Bellevue, Nebraska, to Jerry and Shirley Harris. After graduating from high school, Pam continued her education, earning her bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University, her master’s degree from the University of Georgia, and ultimately her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University.

Pam had a lifelong love of square dancing, a passion she joyfully shared with her husband, Alan. Through square dancing, Pam made many lasting friendships and became deeply involved in the square dance community, holding numerous state and local offices. She and Alan served as presidents of the Circle 8 Square Dance Club in Newton, Kansas. Pam also served as vice chairman of the facility for the National Square Dance Convention held in Wichita.

Beyond dancing, Pam enjoyed many adventures and simple pleasures. She was an avid Kansas City Royals baseball fan and enjoyed both watching and attending games. She loved spending time at the casino, where she was fortunate enough to win some memorable—and sometimes very large—jackpots. Pam and Alan also enjoyed traveling, exploring destinations both within the United States and abroad.

Pam is survived by; her husband Alan Phillip Bashford of Park City, KS; step children Tabetha Kay Stokesbury (Roy) of Kensington, KS and Timothy Alan Bashford (Amanda) of Almena, KS; as well as many extended relatives and friends.

Pam will be remembered for her love of dancing, her adventurous spirit, her many friendships, and the joy she found in sharing life with those around her. She will be deeply missed by her husband, family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Baker Funeral Home West, 3224 N Tyler Rd., Wichita, KS 67205. A luncheon will be held immediately after the service at the Park City Senior Center, 1811 Stuart Drive, Park City, KS 67219.
