Obituary

I started my journey, from this life on February 24, 2025. My children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family and friends; have the task of going on with their lives, while I am awaiting their arrival. Family and friends, please don't be sad. Be happy; as I am in a better place and not suffering; I hope. Be happy and enjoy the good memories we shared.

I Loved Each and Every One of You.

I was born July 22, 1947, in my Grandma Angie Gettings home, in Caldwell, Kansas. I always joked with my siblings about my birth; as my 2 brothers were born in a Hospital in Wellington, KS., and my 2 sisters were born in a Hospital in Enid, OK. While an infant my folks, Doyle and Doris Eileen (Wickery) Gettings, moved the family to Enid, Oklahoma. I attended Adams Grade School, Longfellow Junior High and Enid High, graduating in 1965.

While growing up, my family made numerous trips to Caldwell to visit Grandparents (Lewis H. and Verna Mae Wickery and Angeline and Cecil Gettings); Aunts (Lois, Kay and Carlene); Uncle (Carl) and cousin (Revis) and other Aunts Uncles and Cousins. I enjoyed going with Aunt Lois, to the Railroad Housing and doing whatever needed to be done. I remember a trip to Caldwell, when I was 15. My cousin, Revis, and I went joyriding, in my Uncle Carl's car, that he had brought back from overseas. Remember that, Rev? of course, I didn't like the consequence I got; but I survived that.

A year after graduating, I met Frank Ender, in Enid, Oklahoma. We were married August 7, 1966. We were blessed with 3 children: Frank Junior Curtis, Erica and Robert "Rob". In 1971, Frank took a job, as a Cross-Country truck Driver, with LeeWay Motor Freight, in Oklahoma City. We moved several times in Oklahoma, much to the dismay of the children, (Yukon, Choctaw, back to Enid, then to Tuttle and in 1982, we moved to Caldwell, Kansas). In 1987, Frank and I set our roots in Renfrow, Oklahoma; where I became Clerk/Treasurer, and he became the mayor.

In my years of employment, I was a waitress (at several restaurants in Enid); worked at Vance Air Force Base; was a salesclerk and Assistant Department Manager at Dillard's in Oklahoma City; Nurse's Aide; Manager of Adolph's Pizzeria and a Clerk at Felt's One Stop, in Caldwell, Kansas; Truck and Renfrow Clerk/Treasurer (1997-2018). I enjoyed my work at the Sheriff's office and wished I had done that earlier in my life. After 3 back surgeries, from a 2003 work related accident and other problems, I became disabled.

I leave this world survived by my daughter, Erica; son Robert; grandchildren; Vanessia, Alicia, Kurt, Tia, Teagan and Gabriel as well as a handful of great-grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Thank you, Treva Barclay, for being Aunt Lois's friend and then allowing me to be your friend, in her place. That meant a lot to me, and I loved you for it.

Those that passed before me; husband, Frank; son, Curtis; mother, father; 2 brothers and great-grandson Cade.
