Philip E Oliphant, born on August 29,1954, in Wichita, KS died in his home and was sent to his eternal home on September 26,2025. He was the beloved son of Ernest and Julia Oliphant who preceded him in death, as well as beloved nephews Charles W. Oliphant and Adam Charles Spexarth.

A memorial will be held on October 24th at 11 a.m. at Unity of Wichita, 10616 W Maple St. #100. A luncheon will be served after the celebration of his life.

Philip is survived by his brothers, Charlie (Brenda) and Paul, sisters Julia (Mimi) Koker (Clint), twin, Karen Oliphant and Mary Ann Weiser (late John Weiser). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly. He was also preceded in death by 2 little beings who never got the chance to experience life and the love of their uncle.

Philip graduated from West High School in Wichita, Wichita State University and ultimately earned his Masters Degree from the University of Kansas. He used his education at the Robert Dole VA, becoming a therapist and supervisor providing care to the psychiatric/addiction population. Philip earned awards for Social Worker of the Year and the prestigious Hands and Heart Award for his compassion and quality care.

Philip enjoyed a variety of music, enjoyed reading, bicycling, dancing, the symphony and many years ago, sang with the Emerald City Chorus. He loved thrillers, sci-fi and documentaries. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. One of his greatest joys was vacationing in Scotland. He visited Mexico City when he was in the seminary and traveled to New York.

Philip was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was one marked by love, compassion and faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of all of us. We ask that he be remembered for the way he lived his mission on earth, helping and advocating for others, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure and opportunity of crossing his path.
