Richard Benedict Egbert was born to Joe and Lorraine Egbert in Drumright, Oklahoma on June 20,1939.  He went home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2026 at his home in Maize, Kansas.
After growing up in Tulsa, Oklahoma he attended Oklahoma State University for a few years but decided to enlist in the Navy in October of 1958. He was a Radarman Second Class on The USS Franklin D. Roosevelt and proudly served his country 4 years before being honorably discharged.
In the 1960's Richard bought East Side Honda and Kawasaki in Wichita, Kansas and moved to Kansas to live. On March 30, 1972, Richard married Carolyn Sue Carleton and they would have been married 54 years in March.
Richard later decided to get out of the motorcycle business and went back to college and received his nursing degree and worked at St Francis Hospital for 20 years.
Richard has 3 sons, Brent Carleton (wife Carolyn) of Wichita, Kansas, Carl Carleton (wife Karen) of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Scott Egbert of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Richard had 3 grandsons, 4 granddaughters and 7 great grandchildren.
Richard loved to fish, play golf and watch his favorite FOX channel on endless loop.  In his earlier years he enjoyed travelling the countryside on his motorcycle.
Richard was a member of Olivet Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas and knew when he took his last breath here on earth, he'd spend eternity with his Lord & Savior. In lieu of flowers if you would like to donate in honor of Richard, you can donate to The Good Neighbor Center food pantry at Olivet Baptist Church.

There will be a graveside service on Thursday February 19, 2026 at 1:00pm at Maize Park Cemetery 12733 West 53rd street North, Maize Kansas.
