Robert Allen Sloniker (Bob) age 82 passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas.

Bob was born on October 26, 1943, in Sycamore, Illinois. He built a life centered on faith, family and his love of woodworking, chess, reading and movies. He was a computer programmer for over 20 years and always worked several jobs. Those who knew him will remember his devotion to the people he loved and the church family he led.

He was the pastor of Douglas Avenue Assembly of God for 30 years. He was an Ordained Assemblies of God minister for 44 years and led many church members of other churches to Christ. As Pastor, he played an integral role in the life of the church, offering support, care and encouragement, and counseling to countless individuals and families through his quiet strength, knowledge, and unwavering faith.

He is survived by daughters, Robyn Leigh Smith and her husband Bob, and Wendy Kathleen Sloniker; he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Wendy Sloniker, and their daughter, Ann Marie Sloniker.

Bob was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren, Robin Yabarra (Anthony II) Kara Smith, Georgia Morelas, David Smith; Angela Gibson, Christopher Gibson (Marisol), Jon Gibson (Cheyenne), and Andrew Gibson (Kiana) great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren, Amelia, Anthony III, Christina; Mercedes, and Joseph; Oliver and Jaden - all of whom brought him immense happiness.

Bob especially enjoyed being active in his church and spending time with his family, whether in fellowship, celebration, or quiet moments together. His faith and love for others were evident in the way he lived his life and loved deeply those around him.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home Wichita West 3224 N. Tyler Road, Wichita, KS.

Robert will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
