CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF ROGER DALE WINDSOR

Roger Dale Windsor, born on March 31, 1963, in Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 5, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. He resided in Kansas, Iowa, Arizona, and Texas throughout his lifetime. Roger was a compassionate soul known for his endless wisdom and curiosity. An encyclopedia of knowledge, he delighted in sharing his understanding of butterflies, rare stamps, antiques, history, reptiles, art, and religion with anyone who would listen.

A graduate of Ames High School, Roger was devoted to his family and helping those in need. He is survived by his parents, Charles and Lynette Windsor; his siblings, Kathy Windsor-Jerding and Ryan Windsor; his four children, Sarah, Rachel, Kenny, and Nathan Windsor; and his five cherished grandchildren: Liam, Walker, Lincoln, Avery, and Owen.

Roger had a zest for life, spending his free time treasure hunting at antique shops and thrift stores, and wanted nothing more than to share every moment with his loved ones. He had a particular fondness for aviation, reptiles, art, stamps, and animals and had a gift for connecting with almost anyone he met. Ever since he was little, he was drawn to the wonders of butterflies. Roger connected with the beauty in something so small and its ability to undergo such a magnificent metamorphosis.

Despite his many interests, Roger's true passion was helping others. He approached life with an open heart, always striving to solve the problems of those around him. His kindness, intelligence, and giving nature touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Roger loved anything: lychee, Swedish fish, vanilla lattes, snow cones, Dutch letters (an Iowa favorite), Navajo Fry Bread (an Arizona favorite), and Shipley's donuts (a Texas favorite). He found beauty in every type of music and loved to play the piano and the drums. His favorite pet was Kita (an Akita dog), but he was always surrounded by animals. When he was younger, he even cared for abandoned baby raccoons and had a 12-foot Burmese python (no, the raccoons were not python treats).

Roger Dale Windsor will be remembered by all not only for his eclectic hobbies and interests but also for the love and light he brought into the lives of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

It's not goodbye, it's see you soon.
