Obituary

With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Ms. Rose Alcorn on November 21, 2025. Born in 1945, Rose lived a life full of resilience, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and God.

Rose is survived by her children, Montague Alcorn, Jr, Rose Alcorn-Bennington, Ruth Longwell I, Jacob Alcorn, Angie Alcorn, Paul Alcorn, Lisa Adams, Michael Alcorn, Goldie Lawrence, Luke John Smith, Matthew Smith, and Dominic Ross. She was predeceased by her husband, Montague Alcorn, Sr, her sons, Jerome and Gary Alcorn, and her parents, John Inkelaar, Sr., and Dolly.

Rose was a devoted attendee at Christ the King Catholic Church, demonstrating her deep faith that motivated and carried her through life. Beyond just attending, Rose committed much of her time to volunteering at local service organizations, including Birthright, Guadalupe Clinic, and the Lord's Diner, embodying the values she held dear – pro-life, helping the underprivileged, and supporting Catholic Charities.

Known for her warm, kind, and forgiving nature, Rose was loved by everyone around her. She was smart, funny, independent, loyal, and had a spirit as beautiful as her favorite color, lavender. Her inclination towards crocheting and needlepoint offered a glimpse of her quiet strength and skill.

Rose always harbored dreams of visiting Rome, Holland, and Ireland, places that spoke to her faith and heritage. Her wisdom and life lessons, emphasizing forgiveness, kindness, hard work, education, and grace, provided a beacon of guidance for her loved ones.

One of her greatest accomplishments, raising 14 successful children mostly on her own, stands as a testament to her incredible strength and resilience. Her fierce loyalty to her family and robust faith in God were cornerstones of her life. Rose leaves behind a beautiful legacy of 14 children, 26 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren, a testament to the love, values, and faith she instilled in her family.
