Stanley Walter Wise (89), beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and friend, peacefully entered the Kingdom of God on April 27th 2025. This was the day he longed to be with his Heavenly Father. Born on June 5th, 1935 in Oakland California to loving parents, Kenneth A. Wise Sr. and Alvera Evelyn (Peterson) Wise. Younger brother to Kenneth Wise Jr.

On June 21st, 1953, he met the love of his life, Paula Jean Gates, at church.  The two were united in marriage on June 29th, 1957. They had 6 children, 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, his wife of 58 years, his daughter Shelli Denise Wise and nephew Kenneth Wise the 3rd.

He is survived by son Timothy Wise (Mitch), daughter Cindi Kutsop (Skip), son Todd Wise (Staci), daughter Kari Holland (Jeff), son Trevin Wise, Sister-in-law Joan Tracy Wise and 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

In high school he had a paper route. He was so proud to buy his first car with what he earned. Stanley graduated from Bethany Bible College before being drafted into the Army where he worked as a Chaplain's assistant.  He was stationed in Yuma, Arizona.  As he described Yuma "It was 120 degrees in the shade and there was no shade."  Before moving his family from California to Wichita, Kansas, he worked as comptroller for Simmons Mattress in San Francisco.   Active in the church, he worked as bookkeeper for Fremont First Assembly of God and was on the school board for Fremont Christian School.  In 1979, the family packed up and moved to Wichita, Kansas. He was comptroller for Aerospace Controls before retiring.

His favorite role, however, was that of Grandfather. He didn't care if the grandchildren made a mess or were loud, the moment and memories were more important.  He was always ready with a hug and a funny "Papi" joke.  Stan lived a humble life filled with love, kindness, strength and devotion to God and family.  He touched the hearts of those who knew him with his welcoming smile, kind spirit and unwavering faith in Jesus!

We love you, Dad, Papa, Papi, no one else can measure up to you. Go sing and dance and praise His holy name!

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Baker Funeral Home West 3224 N. Tyler Wichita, Ks.
