Steven Carrolle Flake (1954–2025)

Steven Carrolle Flake, age 71, of Wichita, passed away peacefully at Via Christi St. Teresa Hospital on June 12, 2025.

Steve was born on April 14, 1954, in Wichita, Kansas, to Ernest and Thelma (Hilton) Flake. He attended Wichita North High School and went on to build a career in construction and HVAC, working closely with his lifelong friend, Ron Weems.

He is survived by his partner, Cassandra Willis; his daughter, Cynthia (Aaron) Ressler of Wichita, KS; his sons, Brian (Melissa) Cain of Sparks, NV, and Michael (Erica) Willis of Wichita, KS; seven grandchildren: Samantha, Dominic, Charlotte, Landry, Elise, Conner, and Aubrey; his brother, Clint Ruckle; and his sisters, Linda Munsell of Wichita, KS, and Kathy Beverly of Newberry, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Thelma, and his brothers, Shawn and Jimmy.

Steve loved spending time with his family and was known for his generosity, warmth, and willingness to help anyone in need. He was a loyal friend to many.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Baker Funeral Home (3224 N Tyler Rd, Wichita). A reception will immediately follow at Old Chicago (2240 N Tyler Rd, Wichita).
